SOCRATES

I think that the best politician for me was Socrates. He was a Greek, who lived between fifth and forth century A.C. in Athena. Maybe he doesn’t fix in the concept of the “modern politician”, that usually are just maximising wealth to get good results, he was one from the “old school”, I mean the kind of politician that put the justice over any other worth and that it is prepared and dispose to die for him beliefs, for the nation and the common wealth of the country. Those are reasons why he’s my favourite politician.
What he did in his life? … Take it from me; it is easier ask what he didn’t do. This is his legacy: He developed: philosophy, practic philosophy, logic, physics, metaphysics, ethic, science philosophy, dialectic, rhetoric, speech, art, beauty, epistemology, justice, virtue, politics, education and family. But all this wasn’t enough for him, he create and develop: the Gnothi Seauton (know ourselves), the Socratic problem, mayeuthic, the Socratic irony and syllogisms.
He was the master of many other philosophers and politicians, like Platon.
Suddenly Socrates was sentenced to die taking “cicuta”, for “don’t recognize the Greeks Gods and corrupt the young people”. He had friends powerful enough to release him(as many nowadays politician), but he preferred obey the law and die, to respect the sentence.
